Dear Carlos

I am not sure if I understand your demand/question correct but refer may be to:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_470/helpdata/en/46/7634b1064311d5b68b0004ac160be0/content.htm

Chapter: Changing Work Areas with Versioning

Working with change numbers allows you to change header data or data on "lower" level of a work area.

Therefore I believe the answer to your question might be: yes. By using the "versioning" (as. shown in the above example) you create a "split" in data record. To my knowledge the dates:

01/01/0001 and 31/12/9999 are the "min/maximum" dates. By using the versioning the administration data shoud be effected. I did not try to use change numbers in this context.

If you check:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_470/helpdata/en/1f/ea8e69e09311d3b5700004ac160be0/content.htm

it is explained that the "valid from"/"valid to" are part of the administration data.

E.g. if you take a look here:

http://www.consolut.com/en/s/sap-ides-access/d/s/doc/F-CBIH_WA30_WA_FIND_BY_HEAD

the header dates of a work area can be used as search criterias etc.

C.B.
