Be adviced that using SAP SNC for SSO purposes is no longer allowed, it is a violation of licensing terms. You will have to license NetWeaver Single Sign-On instead. See SAP note 1684886 for details.

The SAP Note 1684886 refers to the SNC Client Encryption product that is free, which can be used for SNC encryption only, not for SSO. So, I think you mean "The SNC Client Encryption product cannot be used for SSO purposes". If a company wants SSO and encryption, using the SNC interface, the SAP NetWeaver SSO product can be licensed, or any of the third-party SSO products which also use the SAP SNC interface can be licensed.
